IIM certainly occupies the topmost tier among all the business management schools. However, that does not mean that all the others are way too inferior.

MBA or PGDM
While deciding about studying business, you need to make sure whether you are happy with MBA or need to enrol in a PGDM course. Is there a difference? Yes, there is; but there is no hell and heaven difference.
MBA is taught in universities. They have a set curricula and it takes time to change curricula. It is more of a rigid structure. However, MBA’s usually have very qualified professors who are selected on the basis of country wide selection.
On the other hand, PGDM is not offered by universities. They are rather offered by institutes. In fact, the best business school in the country, IIM is also an institute and not an university. PGDM courses are usually more oriented to the industry and up to date such as in ITM news.
